Fontinalis (Fontanus) is a hardy, slow-growing aquatic moss prized for its cascading, delicate fronds and natural, flowing appearance. Its soft, fern-like foliage creates beautiful textures when attached to rocks, driftwood, or other hardscape elements, making it perfect for midground accents, aquascape layering, or creating lush, natural-looking underwater gardens.
This adaptable species thrives in a wide range of water conditions and is suitable for both beginners and experienced aquarists. It grows well without CO₂ supplementation and tolerates low to moderate lighting, though moderate light encourages denser, more compact growth. Fontinalis provides excellent shelter and grazing areas for shrimp, fry, and small fish while helping stabilize water quality.
