Shipping Policies
At The Planted Tank, we take great care to ensure your aquatic life and products arrive safely and on time. Please review our shipping policies below to understand our procedures and your responsibilities as a valued customer.
Order Processing
• Orders are typically processed within 1–3 business days.
• Live fish and plants are shipped Monday through Wednesday to avoid weekend delays.
• Cut off for shipping is at noon the prior day (i.e. cut off for Monday shipping is noon the Sunday before).
• Tracking information will be provided once your order ships.
Shipping Methods
• Live animals are shipped via UPS Next Day Air.
• All other non-perishable items may be shipped via standard USPS, UPS, or FedEx services.
• We reserve the right to delay shipping due to extreme weather conditions to protect your livestock.
Live Arrival Guarantee (DOA Policy)
We stand behind the quality of our livestock. Our Live Arrival Guarantee covers any Dead on Arrival (DOA) items under the following conditions:
DOA Coverage Conditions
1. Notification within 1 hour of delivery is required for any DOA claim.
2. Email us at admin@planted-tank.com with:
• Clear photos of the DOA item(s) in the unopened bag.
• Photos of the shipping label and box.
3. Someone must be present to receive the package at the first delivery attempt. DOA claims will not be honored if the package was left unattended.
4. DOA claims are processed as store credit for the value of the item(s) only. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
5. In some cases, replacements may be offered at our discretion and availability.
Shipping Delays and Weather
• We are not responsible for carrier delays once the package is in transit.
• If weather conditions are unsafe for shipping, we will hold your order and notify you.
Winter/Summer Packaging
• We use insulated packaging, heat packs, or cold packs when needed at no extra cost.
• Please be aware of your local temperatures and let us know if you require special considerations.
Incorrect Address or Delivery Issues
• Please double-check your shipping address at checkout.
• We are not responsible for deliveries to incorrect or undeliverable addresses.
